Michael Martino starts off our WASM lecture series for 2018
Welcome back, WASM members, to our regular lecture series at the
Unitarian Church. We begin 2018 with a musical presentation given by Michael
Martino, a Montreal based musician who has been captivating audiences since the
age of 13. He demonstrates technical virtuosity on the instrument as well as
the ability to make each note sing. Michael excels in a wide range of styles
including Country, Jazz, Blues, Rock and World Music.He has performed
numerous shows across North America, appeared on television and won musical
awards. He is continuously sought after as a session musician and sideman. As
well as a guitarist, Michael is also known as a composer, arranger, recording
artist, teacher and singer. His inspirations include guitarists such as Angus
Young, Eddie Van Halen, Richie Sambora, B.B King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Brad
Paisely, Johnny Hiland, Brent Mason, Tommy Emmanuel, Wes Montgomery and Joe
Pass. He has a formal education in music performance and has fundamental
knowledge on music theory and ear training. Today, Michael takes part in a
variety of musical projects. He continues to compose, record, perform and
