For the Atwater Library Lunchtime Series, journalist and author Kristian Gravenor shares some of the nostalgic and little-known true stories in his book, Montreal 375: Tales of Eating, Drinking, Living and Loving.

The MMFA (Montreal Museum of Fine Arts) continues with its Free Thursday Workshops for Seniors (60+) from 2pm to 4pm downstairs. You just have to go to the front desk to put your name in to the class just before it starts. The theme for this month is: "Abstract Painting - Hard Edge".

WASM's last event of 2017 - The Klezmerized Trio


The Klezmerized trio includes Roslyn, Eric and Julie Abramovitz. Roslyn is a mother of four, with Eric and Julie being two of her children. She has a Master’s degree in piano performance and is a Fr.-Eng. translator and copy editor, piano teacher/accompanist, substitute teacher and seniors’ choir director. Eric Abramovitz, 24, has a Bachelor of Music in performance from McGill University and is pursuing a graduate certificate at USC in Los Angeles. He recently won the position of Associate Principal, 2nd and Eb clarinet in the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, where he will be starting in January 2018. Julie Abramovitz, 20, is a university student at Concordia in Human Relations and has been playing the violin since the age of four.

The Klezmerized trio performs at weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, house parties, marketing events and seniors’ residences.

Peace, Love & Hope, 10th Anniversary - Vernissage

The Quebec’s Masters and Artisans Museum (Musée des maîtres et artisans du Québec) presents the Peace, Love and Hope 10th Anniversary exhibition from December 9th, 2017 to January 7th, 2018. The vernissage was held on Saturday, December 9th at 2 p.m, attended by invited guests, friends of the museum and project supporters. Avy Loftus, the founder of Peace, Love & Hope, and Francesco Miele, Councilor of the City of Saint-Laurent, gave speeches, followed by Pierre Wilson who read the bilingual messages from the Governor General of Canada, Julie Payette, and announced the launching of the publication entitled "Kindness is Contagious"/"La gentillesse est contagieuse". This bilingual book was dedicated to any child who was ever been bullied and those who wish to change their ways. The book was written by Mary Lynne Loftus, illustrated by Avy Loftus and translated into French by Jules Chicoine-Wilson.
