More photos of the 2013 Annual Art Show

We are grateful to the many volunteers who stepped forward, as they do every year, to make the Art Show the success that it is. Hours of work were put in, from receiving submissions to hanging the artwork to cutting cheese slices for the vernissage and everything in between, so to everyone who helped, a large thank you from all our members. I did not manage to photograph everyone and only some of you appear in the photos, but you are all appreciated.

The 2013 Annual Art Show

Some photos from this year's Art Show, as always a feast for the eyes. Our guest of honor was Monique Polak, author and Humanities and English professor at Marianopolis College. In attendance were also students from the Creative Writing program who gave readings, as well as Marianopolis pianist Caroline Wong who enchanted so many with her playing throughout the evening.

Bonnie Stamos Destounis and Selena Liss at Annual Art Show

Bonnie Stamos Destounis, the President of the Montreal Council of Women, was our guest of honor at the vernissage for our 2011 Art Show at Ogilvy's Tudor Hall. This is the second half of her speech where she talks personally about her beginnings as an artist.



Our second speaker was Selena Liss, Marianopolis College professor and Coordinator for the college's Arts Trip, one of the projects that receives help from the Bursary Fund. Ms. Liss also joined the original panel of judges for the final judging for the awarding of prizes.

Annual Art Show 2010 of the Women's Art Society

The 2010 Annual Art Show is up and looking fantastic at Ogilvy's Tudor Hall. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, the show will have a shorter run than usual, but that did not discourage turnout at the vernissage last Saturday afternoon. A large crowd, much praise for the artists and an enthusiastic response to the varied artworks. Many thanks go to all the members who took time and care in planning, hanging the show and in preparing the food for the vernissage. Here are my photos from the event:
